Steroid prescription letter
This is a template letter to request longer prescriptions for your essential steroid medications.
Having long enough prescriptions (at least three months) for your glucocorticoid medication is important to make sure you have enough supply to cover any loss or damage, and to increase dosing during Sick Day Rules. This letter can be used to ask your GP to increase the length of your prescriptions if you do not currently have three-month prescriptions.
What this letter does
This letter asks your GP to increase your steroid prescriptions to at least three months.
Who this letter is for
You can use this letter if you have a adrenal insufficiency or Addison's disease that is treated with any of the following:
- Hydrocortisone
- Prednisolone
- Hydrocortisone emergency injections
