Your legal obligation
You have a legal obligation to notify the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) of a condition that lasts longer than three months and may affect your ability to drive.
You therefore must tell the DVLA if you have a pituitary tumour AND either:
- you do not have a normal field of vision – you can ask your optician to check this
- you’ve had surgery known as a cranioectomy
Many people with pituitary conditions will find there is no restriction, but you should check with your GP.
To find out more and report your condition online, see the GOV.UK webpage on pituitary tumours and driving.
