The Specialised Healthcare Alliance have announced that their new report ‘Rare diseases, common inequalities: bringing rare diseases into the health inequalities agenda’ is available via their website.

They announced the report as part of their quarterly meeting, citing that it contains eight key recommendations aiming to support equal and easy access to services for people with rare diseases. This is ensuring that more common conditions and rarer conditions are treated with the same care and ability to live as healthily as possible.

The Specialised Healthcare Alliance plan to share the report with NHS England, The Department of Health and Social Care and The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Pushing for the policymakers to address the inequalities patients face and prevent avoidable experiences.
