Healthcare Opinions are looking for caregivers to close friends or family who have been diagnosed with Adrenal Insufficiency or Addison’s Disease.

Healthcare Opinions have stated that the study is not a clinical study and rather focuses on the suitability of the Hercules device.

Specifically, they want to validate that the intended users of the device can use it safely and effectively. They will also be comparing the preparation time of the Hercules device with Solu-Cortef and Efcortesol.

In addition, they will evaluate whether participants would be suitable for the product and if the labelling and instructions are sufficient enough to aid in the correct and safe administration.

They have stated that participants of the study DO NOT have to have prior experience in giving injections to be eligible. They also want to understand what it is like for someone using the device for the first time.

The study consists of a 120-minute interview, during which you would be asked to simulate an injection in to a training pad.

Acumen have asked to please note that ‘there will be a needle attached to the device, however you will not be asked to inject yourself or others and you will not be asked to take any medication’. Also, that ‘the interview will be recorded on video camera, and may be streamed to representatives of the client who may be watching from another European country’.

The sessions will be taking place throughout October and the beginning of November with the dates as followed:

Stockport (SK2) between Tuesday 17th October and Thursday 19th October

Birmingham (B15) Between Tuesday 24th October and Thursday 26th October

London WC2R between Tuesday 31st October and Friday 3rd November

As a thank you, Healthcare Opinions will also be rewarding participants with £150 for their contribution.
