10am

The London Area Pituitary Patients group will be meeting on Saturday 1st July. The meeting will take place at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square.

We are delighted to tell you that Professor Stephanie Baldeweg, Consultant Endocrinologist, has kindly organised an excellent programme for our next meeting. There will be three talks, the first will be by Dr Janine Makaronidis (Endocrinologist) on: “Obesity in the context of pituitary disease”. The second talk will be from Dr Michael Kosmin (Consultant Oncologist) and will focus on: ”Role of radiotherapy in pituitary disease”.

A third talk will focus on two important patient focused research studies: a Priority Setting Partnership to identify the top 10 unanswered research questions in pituitary surgery and a Core Outcome Set to establish a list of outcomes to measure in all future pituitary surgery research. We hope to get your opinion and understand what is most important to you in order to reshape future pituitary surgery research.

Afterwards there will be a Q & A session with Professor Stephanie Baldeweg, Mr Hani Marcus (Consultant Neurosurgeon), Miss Anouk Borg (Consultant Neurosurgeon), Dr Janine Makaronidis (Endocrinologist), Dr Michael Kosmin (Consultant Oncologist), Glenda Jimenez (Pituitary Nurse Specialist) and Dr Nicola Newall (Neurosurgery Senior House Officer). Refreshments will be provided during the meeting.
