Volunteering

The Pituitary Foundation would not be able to exist without the selfless and tireless help given to us by our volunteers. We are always needing, and looking for, more volunteers to help us - in various roles.

Have you ever thought about becoming a volunteer for The Foundation? Would you like to know more about being a volunteer?

There are a number of ways you can volunteer, using skills you already have, or you wish to learn new ones to help us serve our community better.

Volunteer roles include:

  • Running a Local Support Group as an Area Co-ordinator
  • Committee member within an existing Local Support Group, for example:
    • Treasurer, secretary, newsletter editor;
    • Or perhaps you can drive and offer to collect patients who have difficulty getting to the group.
    • Or you may know your employer won't mind if you copied the Local Group's newsletter or other information on their copier, thus helping the group distribute local information and saving funds.
  • Helping with administration at National Support Office in Bristol
  • HelpLine operator - taking calls for our National HelpLine
    • Please note, being a HelpLine operator requires in-depth training and being able to offer regular shift-work.
  • Telephone Buddy - taking referred calls from other patients/carers
Through our Volunteer Programme we provide training and ongoing support and all of our volunteers receive free subscribed membership to The Foundation while they volunteer.
