Timing your dose of Sandostatin (Octreotide) |
|
Pituitary News, Issue 6 - Winter 1997. A question was raised at the recent AGM about the timing of Octreotide injections. Apparently there is some discrepancy between members as to whether the injections need to be timed accurately at eight hour intervals, or whether it is acceptable just to inject three times a day, with variable intervals. The question has been referred to the manufacturer, Novartis Pharmaceuticals. They have replied that the doses should be taken as closely as possible to eight hour intervals. If this does not match your current regime, you may wish to discuss this with your Endocrinologist at your next visit.
